Among Ozeri’s quality glassware offerings is the Serafino double-wall insulated glass set. Available in sizes of eight, 12, and 16 ounces, the glasses are crafted of condensation-resistant borosilicate.

Approximately 90 percent of glass products, from vases to windows, are made from soda-lime glass. Composed of 69 percent silica, 15 percent soda, and nine percent lime, such glass uses materials that relatively common and inexpensive. Unfortunately, they are also susceptible to heat changes and shock, and they are durable only within a normal temperature range.

By contrast, borosilicate glass expands much more slowly than soda-lime glass when exposed to heat and has a maximum thermal shock range (tolerable difference in temperature) of 340 degrees Fahrenheit. This means that if a borosilicate glass item is pulled out of a heated oven and then placed under cold water, it will not easily shatter. It was the material originally used to make Pyrex, though certain Pyrex items are now crafted of soda-lime glass.

The Serafino glasses are designed with a patented double wall to keep the hands cool when hot liquids are involved. This also prevents condensation from forming on the outer glass when chilled. Freezer and microwave safe, the glasses offer a wraparound contour that has a natural, elegant grip. With satisfaction guaranteed, each set is covered by a straightforward warranty.
